Mission of the Charlotte Fire Department Pipes &
Drums is to, by our music and professional conduct,
promote greater recognition and appreciation of the
history, traditions and sacrifices of all members
of the fire service.

the Charlotte Fire Department?
We get asked frequently how to find a good
instructor. The band has used the services of 2 very
qualified/accomplished piping instructors and they are
highly recommended! Check out their websites for more

The parade will be on Saturday,
March 15, 2008 in downtown Charlotte beginning at
10:30 AM.
Q: What is
the parade route?

This year we have a new route for the
parade. It will start at 9th &
Tryon St.
and head south to 3rd &
Tryon St.

the festival hours?

The festival is also on Saturday, March 15 and runs
from 10:00 AM until 6:30 PM and
The festival
is free to everyone!
Q: What is
the festival location?
A:
We have a new location for the
Charlotte Goes Green Festival this year. We will be
directly on
Tryon St. starting at 3rd St. and going down to
1st Street.
The festival begins where the parade ends.
The Pipes &
Drums and Honor Guard members will participate in the
annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg,
Maryland. This event, held during the first weekend
of October, honors firefighters lost in the line of
duty. Pipe Bands and Honor Guard units from around
the country participate during the weekend.
The band has been preparing for several months for
this very special ceremony.
Charlotte's Irish Festival
The Pipes & Drums
performed the opening of the 1st Annual Charlotte Irish
Festival. Located at Connolly's of Fifth Street, the
festival included bands and family fun all day. If you did
not attend......put this event on your calendar for next
year!
